The season's introduction of rich and deep hues accented by whimsical metals naturally led to photography with a dramatic flare, while highlighting the unique materials used by Blue Pheasant.
The Process
Art direction for this shoot started from my first introduction to the line. I was mesmerized by the deep greens and rich blues the collection presented and I was instantly inspired by the wonderful cinematic works of Annie Leibovitz.
It started with organizing thumbnail images from the vendors into product groupings that were both aspirational and showed the function of each piece. Mood boards followed, which described user profiles that acted as a skeleton for photography and styling direction.
After rounds of approvals came the shot list, which refined product pairings even further. I worked with the photographer and stylist to make sure everyone understood the art direction from lighting, image composition, food and floral styling, and even set changes.
